Before you start
- Go to your Workspace Settings > Tools & Settings
- Select "Import/Export" (Requires Workspace Owner)
How to download
- Select "Export Message History"
- Choose the date range
- Download the ZIP file
Pro tip
Free Slack workspaces limit message history to the last 90 days. Paid workspaces have full history.
After the download
- Import the JSON to a local viewer like "Slack Archive Viewer"
- Delete the export after review
