Samsung Health

Updated Aug 23, 2026

Samsung Health is the tracking app built into Samsung phones and watches, and it quietly accumulates more than people expect. Steps, sleep, heart rate, blood pressure, blood glucose, body composition and exercise logs, from the phone and from every connected device. It exports as JSON or CSV from inside the app, which is one of the more straightforward processes on this site.

How to download

  1. Select "Download personal data" (or "Export data")
  2. Pick JSON or CSV (CSV is friendlier for spreadsheets; JSON is friendlier for notebooks)
  3. Pick the date range (or "All Time" for a full archive)
  4. Select the data categories you want (Activity, Sleep, Heart, Body, Nutrition, Medical, etc.)

Pro tip

Samsung's export is the most generous on Android for blood-pressure and blood-glucose logs — clinically-relevant fields that most wearables ignore. If you track those, Samsung Health is the cleanest export.

After the download

  • Unzip — JSON export produces one file per category; CSV export produces one CSV per category
  • Medical/ fields (blood pressure, blood glucose) are usually small and worth preserving even if other data is discarded — most wearables do not export these
  • On Android, also enable Health Connect sync so any other health apps you use (Fitbit, Garmin, Oura, Google Fit) can read your Samsung Health data going forward
