Before you start
- Go to Settings > Account
- Select "Export account data"
How to download
- Click "Request an archive of your personal account"
- Wait for email (usually a few minutes)
- Download the archive
Pro tip
You can use "GitHub Desktop" or CLI to clone all your repositories locally for a true "offline backup".
After the download
- Review the activity log
- Delete sensitive repository data if needed
