Before you start

Go to bsky.app
Navigate to Settings > Privacy and Security

How to download

Scroll to "Export My Data"
Click "Download CAR file"
Save the archive

Pro tip

Bluesky is built on the AT Protocol — your data lives in a portable "repo" you can export as a CAR file and re-import to any compatible server. This is proper data portability, not just an archive.

After the download

Use tools like atproto.com or goat CLI to inspect the CAR file
Store the export in ProtonDrive or pCloud
