Netflix keeps your viewing history, every rating you have given, and every search you have typed into it. It also keeps all of that for every profile on the account, so a shared household means one request covers everybody in it. There is no button in the app; it is a page on the website, and the history runs back to the day the account was created.

Before you start

Go to netflix.com > Account
Scroll to the bottom of the page
Under "Privacy", click "Get a copy of your personal information"

How to download

Select "Download your personal information"
Click "Submit"
Wait for the email (up to 30 days)
Download the ZIP file

Pro tip

The export covers all profiles on the account, not just yours. Each profile's viewing history is in a separate CSV. Great for spotting what got watched when.

After the download

Open ViewingActivity.csv in a spreadsheet to see your full watch history
Review for any shows you'd rather not have on record
